The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) today (June 5) appointed Ah Tak as the Keep Clean Ambassador and launched a Facebook page for him so that he could disseminate personally the message of keeping Hong Kong clean to members of the public.
An FEHD spokesman said, "Keep Clean Ambassador Ah Tak loves cleanliness. He is righteous and civic-minded. Through his Facebook page, he will share photos, videos and conduct interactive games with us and provide various information on personal, household and environmental hygiene as well as the latest news about keeping Hong Kong clean."
"The FEHD strives to provide a clean and hygienic living environment for the people of Hong Kong, and promote keeping Hong Kong clean through different channels including the Internet and social media. We hope that Ah Tak can encourage the public to join hands with him in maintaining personal, household and environmental hygiene, and invite family members and friends to participate together so as to pass on the virtue of being civic minded and considerate of others," the spokesman said.
He added that apart from setting up Ah Tak's Facebook page, a TV Announcement in the Public Interest (API) and a poster featuring Ah Tak will also be launched later to enhance the publicity impact.
Members of the public are welcome to "like" Keep Clean Ambassador Ah Tak's Facebook page www.facebook.com/cleanhongkong and follow his latest moves to show support for him and pitch in to keep Hong Kong clean.
