Disposal of Ashes in the Possession of the Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene
The ash handlers of the columbaria below have carried out the Ash Disposal Plan approved by the Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene (hereinafter referred to as the “Director”), and have delivered the ashes not returned to the eligible claimants to the Director as required under the Private Columbaria Ordinance (Cap. 630). The ashes have been delivered to the Temporary Ashes Storage Facility of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (hereunder as “FEHD”) for temporary storage.

The above ashes are now kept in the Temporary Ashes Storage Facility of FEHD for temporary storage. The Director will dispose of those ashes together with the containers and the items (if any) interred in the containers (the “related items”) not returned to the eligible claimants upon the expiry of 24 months from the date of the delivery of the last batch of ashes to the FEHD Temporary Ashes Storage Facility (i.e. 27 September 2023) in any manner that the Director thinks fit under section 15(1) of Schedule 5 to the Private Columbaria Ordinance, Cap.630.
If any person would like to collect the relevant set(s) of ashes and/or the related items, please contact the Private Columbaria Enforcement Team of FEHD at 2892 2731 for arrangement, otherwise they will be disposed of by the Director in any manner that the Director thinks fit.
