1. List of Columbaria in respect of which the steps that specified officers consider necessary for disposal of ashes are being carried out

Remark:
In accordance with Private Columbaria Ordinance (“the Ordinance”), the prescribed ash disposal procedures as stipulated by the Ordinance are required to be carried out in the following situations:

• the private columbarium commences operation on or after 30 June 2017 without any specified instrument in force;
• the private columbarium was in operation before 30 June 2017 but continues to operate, without any specified instrument in force, after the grace period;
• the private columbarium is abandoned or ceases operation; or
• the person-in-possession after taking possession of the private columbarium must carry out the prescribed ash disposal procedures as soon as reasonably practicable unless he/she has invited the Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene (“the Director”) under section 75(4) of the Ordinance to carry out the necessary ash disposal steps in respect of the columbarium.

Under certain situations (for example, the columbarium was abandoned or the person-in-possession has made invitation to the Director in accordance with section 75(4) of the Ordinance), the specified officers of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department will carry out the necessary ash disposal steps in respect of the columbarium.
