Cremation Service

Platform for Cemeteries and Crematoria Services (CCSP)

The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) launched the full version "Platform for Cemeteries and Crematoria Services " (Service Platform) on 31 March 2025, which digitizes all FEHD public services related to the procedures for after-death of the deceased, and provides more convenient electronic application procedures and personalized services for the families of the deceased.

Release one of the Service Platform was launched in October 2024, mainly covering online cremation service applications, while Release two was launched on 31 March 2025, fully opening up online cemeteries and crematoria services to enable public to handle the after death matters of their deceased more conveniently.

All applicants must register and complete authentication before using the Service Platform to apply for cemeteries and crematoria services.  Existing users of the Internet Memorial Service (IMS) can also continue to use the service.

 Highlights of the Service Platform

  • Enhance convenience, simplify the application process
    The new service platform integrates and optimises the existing functions of the FEHD's cemeteries and crematoria website to provide more convenient after-death services, including:
    • Clear instructions, easy operation: The Service Platform clearly categorizes various after-death services, making it easier for public to search and use the services they need. The Service Pplatform also has demonstration videos to ensure that the process is easy to understand and operate.
    • Support online payment: Public can pay service fees through a variety of electronic payment methods, saving the step of traveling to the office in person to pay fees.
    • Automatic form filling function by "iAM Smart": If public use the "iAM Smart" electronic identity verification, the system will automatically fill in part of the online form to speed up the application process.
    • No need to submit application in person: Eligible applications, including cremation services, allocation of public niches, cremation or keeping services for abortus, free memorial trip at sea, and the establishment of an Internet Memorial Services website (Advanced Planning Version), can be made through the Service Platform without going to the Cemeteries and Crematoria Offices in person. Public can handle the after-death matters of their deceased at home at any time, which enhances convenience.
  • Integrated service account, one-stop management of multiple applications
    • Manage after-death matters of multiple deceased: Public can create an integrated service account through the Service Platform to centralize manage the after-death matters of multiple deceased and reduce cumbersome procedures.
    • Clearly grasp the application progress: The Service Platform allows public to manage several service applications for the same deceased in a single account, so that public can instantly grasp the application progress of various services, improving user experience and processing efficiency.

Online Application for Cremation Services

Applicants or their proxies / undertakers who wish to avail themselves of the service need to register for an account at the Service Platform before completing the application form and pre-paying the cremation fee online.  Licensed undertakers which had been registered "Online Cremation Application and Pre-paid System 2.0" (closed on 1 April 2025) are also required to re-register. After pre-payment, they can print out the receipt and the completed application form for cremation service (FEHB 135), with a QR code, from the system / email.  Eligible applications (must use iAM Smart to log in) will enjoy automatic approval.

For the convenience of the public to use the service, the "Online Cremation Application and Pre-paid System 2.0" operates 24 hours a day (except during system maintenance).  Applicants or their proxies / undertakers can pre-pay the cremation fee by credit card, Payment by Phone Service (PPS), Apple Pay, Google Pay or Faster Payment System (FPS). All fees paid are non-refundable. Apple Pay, Google Pay and FPS are not supported in "Internet Explorer" browser. If you would like to pay by these payment methods, please switch to a different compatible browser. * Kwai Chung Crematorium temporarily suspends cremation services starting from August 14, 2024 for replacement of the cremators upon its expected service life and other refurbishment works. The construction works are expected to be completed and resume service by the end of 2027. Meanwhile, the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department will release additional cremation sessions at other government crematoria to maintain the overall provision of service.
