On 6 November 2024, the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) held an award ceremony at Lai Chi Kok Government Offices for Property Management Agents (PMAs) participating in the Scheme of Participation by the PMAs in Tackling Dripping Air-conditioners (the Scheme), as well as members and organisations of the local community participating in the pilot enforcement operation, to recognise the unwavering efforts and assistance of the PMAs, as well as members and organisations of the local community in handling complaints about dripping air-conditioners in 2024.

At the ceremony, Mr YIU Kai-cheuk, Arsene, JP, Acting Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene, expressed his gratitude to the PMAs for their pro-active participation in the Scheme by following up on and resolving numerous complaints about dripping air-conditioners in 2024, and commended them for their outstanding performance. Through the provision of quality customer services, the PMAs have maintained a harmonious relationship with the residents in an effective manner and enhanced the interaction and co-operation among them, thereby providing assistance in identifying the source of dripping and expediting the resolution of dripping air-conditioner issues in an effective manner. Meanwhile, he also thanked members and organisations of the local community for their relentless efforts and assistance in identifying the source of dripping from air-conditioners during the pilot enforcement operation, and for carrying out publicity and education campaigns in the community in a pro-active manner, to remind members of the public to properly address the dripping air-conditioner issues and avoid causing nuisance to others.

The PMAs, as well as members and organisations of the local community all play an important role in addressing issues such as dripping air-conditioners and other environmental hygiene matters. The FEHD looks forward to further enhancing the co-operation with them so as to create a better living environment for members of the public.
